Hello everyone and welcome to my Blog. Ha-ha makes me kind of laugh but here goes it.
My name is Jennifer. 38. 1 word in which people describe me: Effervescent. I'm hard working and I have a strong work ethic. I love people and I have a lot of passion for the things I do in life. I love my family and they are wonderful. I wish I could see them more. I also have a handful of friends that put the Dinya in my Shusk!! (inside joke) My friends help make the time away from my family that much more bearable. I can never get enough of them. They continue to inspire me and make me a better woman.
I have a wonderful husband named Josh. We have been married two years come this Feburary. Marriage is NOT at all what I thought it would be like. It is very challenging. We have very different personalities, but nonetheless, we love eachother dearly. He is tall and handsome. To know him is to love him. Hardworking, quiet. He is very loyal. But most of all he loves me and wants me to be happy. AWWWW.......
The reason for this blog is more like a journel for me. We found out 4 years ago that we are in the 20% range of infertile couples. I can hardly believe it myself sometimes. But I've had my moment and have accepted it. O.k., O.k. I've had lots of moments, lots of painful moments, but I must go on and fight the fight. We have had two rounds of In vitro Fertilization. Both at the cost of 15,000 dollars each. The first time our doctor dropped the ball on us and did not do a procedure that would have insured our success of fertiliztion. IVF is a BIG business here in the states. The second time our new doctor, whom I'll call Dr. G, got us all the way to pregnancy only for us to lose it at 5 weeks. OUCH!! We love Dr. G and his whole entire staff, they are truely amazing professionals. We want to stay at his office, however the the procedure proves to be just too costly for us. They recommend us trying again.
Our insurance doesn't cover IVF. Both great companies that we work for does not include it in the coverage. Like most insurance companies in our beautiful U.S.A, they do NOT cover the process of IVF. "They" don't think it's medically necessary. I have since wrote to a member of Congress, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, to state my situation and how unfortunate the circumstances are for me and my American sisters who cannot concieve naturally. I stated how we have to battle to get the treatment we need covered only to no avail. She wrote back only to talk to me about stem cell research, beacause really that's all they want to talk about. She never once mentioned IVF in her letter.
Josh and I are now planning to leave our great country of The United States of America to go to Prauge, Czech Republic for our treatment. At this time we are researching our options. We plan to go with another couple in our same situation which would be very welcomed so as to not be by ourselves, o.k., o.k. by myself!!!!. IVF (shots, monitoring, labs, ultrasounds, fertilization, transfers) should be about $10,000 including accomodations for 21 days. WOW!! Sounds too good to be true!! My mother always said "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is" Let's hope shes wrong.
This being my introduction to the blog, I'll end now as to review how this actually works. Thank you to whomever took interest in my babeling I'll be back with more of our plans to Czech and the jouney into motherhood.
Thanks again for reading.
Sincerely,
Love,
Jennifer
